4 Avenue Flyover (ongoing): reduced to a single lane.

To complete the repairs, and stay on track for completion in late 2025, the bridge will fully close at night for two days:

  • Feb. 13 beginning at 9 p.m., until Feb. 14 at 5 a.m.
  • Feb. 14 beginning at 9 p.m., until Feb. 15 at 5 a.m.

Regular construction will resume on Feb. 15 reopening to single lane traffic.

Mission Bridge (ongoing): Full closure of the bridge for vehicle traffic.

Elbow Drive Periodic Lane Closure – Feb. 8 – 15, 2025

Until Feb. 15, there will be a periodic lane closure on Elbow Drive for the area and intersection of 4 Street S.W. and 26 Avenue S.W. to accommodate concrete pouring work. Pedestrian and wheeling access to and over Mission Bridge will be maintained.

Work may happen during the following times (dependent on weather/other factors):

  • Feb. 10-14: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Feb. 15: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunnyside Flood Barrier  (ongoing): daily lane/pathway closures from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., as required, along Memorial Drive between 10 Street and Centre Street N.W.

Be sure to plan ahead using The City’s traveller information tools and the Waze app for real-time driver info. Visit calgary.ca/trafficinfo for a full list of traffic incidents, closures and detours.

Be safe. Drive smart.

On Family Day and every day, we’re asking drivers to prioritize safety and avoid distractions. Distracted driving is a serious issue that puts drivers, passengers, pedestrians and cyclists at risk. Before driving, set your phone to Do Not Disturb so you can give your full, undivided attention to the road ahead. Visit calgary.ca/besafe  and calgary.ca/traffictips to learn more about what you can do keep yourself and others safe on roads and pathways.
