Fire crews responded to a fire in a detached garage in northeast Calgary on Monday morning.

Crews were called to the garage at the back of a home on Maitland Drive NE in the community of Marlborough around 10:30 a.m.

District Fire Chief Shaun Leonard says the fire was first reported by a neighbour who noticed smoke coming from the garage.

Firefighters quickly contained the fire and no other structures or nearby homes were damaged.

No one was hurt and Leonard says no people or pets needed to be evacuated.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
