Mounties and fire crews are currently at the scene of a large house fire in Airdrie.

Emergency crews were called to the Bayside community in southwest Airdrie before 1 p.m. for reports of a fire.

A caller to the 660 NewsRadio newsroom says smoke can be seen from a distance crews are asking onlookers to leave the area.

“There trying to stop it from connecting on to two other houses right now,” says caller Harry.

RCMP say the intersection of Bayside Boulevard and Baywater Way is currently closed to traffic.
