Pause for Pets: ‘Full-time goof’ Krypto looking for adventure buddy

Home News Pause for Pets: ‘Full-time goof’ Krypto looking for adventure buddy

In this week’s Pause for Pets, 660 NewsRadio introduces you to a dog hanging out with Calgary Animal Services, waiting on someone to show up and take him home.

Staff at animal services dub Krypto a “full-time goof” and perfect outdoor adventure buddy. He is fond of his toys, likes a good chew, playing with fellow canines and showing off

This personality-infused, great Pyrenees pooch specializes in hiking and squirrel surveillance.

Young Krypto can feel frustrated when he sees other dogs through fences or while on leash, so he’s looking for someone who can help him with slow, polite introductions.

Every dog has their idiosyncrasies. For Krypto? He doesn’t like to be bothered when he’s chewing his kibbles. But while he waits for his human companion to make an appearance, animal behaviour experts are working on that, and he’s been making progress.

His ideal home should come with a fenced yard where he can chase away any squirrels, magpies or bunnies that dare to venture over. And the nearly two-year-old canine will do best with an experienced handler who also has a lot of energy but, when the day is done, loves to chill, too.

Nearly two years old, Krypto has been at Calgary Animal Services since December.

If you think he may be a fit for you or want more information, call 311 and give them Krypto’s shelter number A0939431.
